Maria Leaf

Maria came to KDKA in 2007. The Syracuse, NY native began her career at WRVO-FM, while studying Broadcasting at Oswego State University in Oswego, NY. From there, she spent three years working at WSYR-TV and WSYR-AM in Syracuse, filling various roles before moving onto WGY-AM in Albany, NY where she was an Anchor and Reporter. Maria then went from the state capital to the nation's capital as a Reporter for WTOP-AM/FM and Federal News Radio in Washington, DC.

She's won numerous Associated Press and Edward R. Murrow awards, but is most proud of working with lawmakers in New York to pass a state law increasing the penalties against repeat offending drunk drivers, after her brother was killed by one in 2006.

Maria is happy to call Pittsburgh home.
