The Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium welcomes the arrival of a second baby elephant born this year.
After a record breaking pregnancy, 688 days to be exact, Moja gave birth around 5:30 a.m.
According to a zoo spokesperson, the mother and baby are doing well.
This is the second elephant born in July, and comes eight years after the last time one was born at the zoo.
Both new calves have the same father, Jackson, a bull elephant.
Visitors to the zoo will have to wait a few days before they get a glimpse of the new baby. |
