John’s well-known for talking sports in the Pittsburgh market, but one of his loves has always been talking about politics and the news. Steigerwald started his career as a minor-league baseball announcer. Born in the ‘Burgh, John has a long history with the city. In the 70s and early 80s, he worked at KQV, WDVE and WTAE-TV in their sports departments. From 1985 to 2007, he continued his career in sports at KDKA-TV. He joined the line-up at NewsRadio 1020 KDKA in February 2008 and has been stirring the pot with his commentary since. John graduated from South Hills Catholic and Kent State University with a major in telecommunications. He and his wife, Jeani, have three children, six grandchildren, a dog named Charlie and a cat, Stanley.
