One of Pittsburgh's most notorious graffiti artists has been sentenced to jail time.
Daniel Montano, 22, of Highland Park, will serve 2 1/2 to 5 years in jail, as well as 5 years probation, $232,582 in restitution and 2,500 hours of community service.
He pled guilty to tagging areas all over the city including city-owned walls, private businesses and home garages with the script "MFONE."
All in all, his work was identified on more than 100 buildings in the Pittsburgh area.
According to his defense attorney, William Cercone, addiction to drugs led Montano astray and into a life of vandalism.
Montano, a former student at the San Francisco Art Institute, has been convicted before on graffiti-related crimes.
